A thigh lift or an arm lift are surgical procedures to remove skin and fat from the thighs to tighten the skin and improve the contour and appearance of the legs or the arms.
The combined effects of aging, gravity, fluctuations in weight, and a loss of skin elasticity all contribute to loss of tone in the thighs and the arms as we age.
Brachioplasty, also known as an arm lift, is a surgical procedure to remove skin and fat from the upper arm, reducing skin redundancy that makes clothing fit improperly or makes you feel uncomfortable in short sleeves or sleeveless tops. The incisions required are determined by the severity of your condition. Minimal skin excess may be treated with an incision in the armpit alone. Moderate laxity is treated with an incision from the armpit to the elbow.

Procedure
After the incision has been made, the surgeon gently elevates the skin and fat off of the underlying muscles of the arm. The surgeon removes excess skin and fat and redrapes the skin over the underlying muscles.
If you are planning a future pregnancy or anticipate a significant loss of weight in the future, it is probably best to postpone your thigh lift or your arm lift until after these events have occurred to optimize your results.
After your procedure you should be able to resume your normal daily activities within several days following surgery and you should be able to resume all of your physical activities within three weeks after an arm lift and four to six weeks after a thigh lift. |
